New Century Press, a Hong Kong–based publisher, has been selected as the 2010 recipient of the Jeri Laber International Freedom to Publish Award. Established in 2005, the press has committed to making available in Chinese books of historic and political interest that have been banned on the mainland, a virtually unprecedented initiative in the Chinese-language publishing world.
