Kevin L. Sayar
Senior Vice President, ProQuest
Cofounder and President of ebrary, Kevin Sayar led the company from inception in 1999 through its acquisition by ProQuest in January 2011. As VP and GM of ebrary for ProQuest, Sayar represented the company on ProQuest’s Senior Leadership Team. His responsibilities expanded to managing ProQuest Workflow Solutions, a business unit dedicated to software solutions that help librarians acquire and manage their holdings, and that support researchers with discovery, management, and collaboration tools. Sayar most recently led ProQuest’s acquisition of Ebook Library (EBL); ProQuest is now combining EBL and ebrary to create a best-of-breed Ebook platform. He now oversees both the Workflow Solutions and combined Ebooks business units.
Sayar received his B.A. from UC Berkeley, following with a J.D. from California Western School of Law. He worked in Corporate Securities and High-Tech Litigation for Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati until 1999 when he reconnected with High School friend Christopher Warnock and cofounded ebrary. Sayar also serves as a board member for the Setting Scoliosis Straight Foundation, an endeavor driven by the diagnosis of his eldest daughter. He lives in Los Altos, CA with his wife Alison, and daughters Emmatisse and Daniella.
