Richard Blake is Senior Vice President Governmental Affairs for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. He is responsible for coordination of the company’s governmental relations in Washington and in key states and for tracking of legislative and policy developments relevant to the business. From 1995-1999, Blake served as head of the School Division of the Association of American Publishers, where he led key legislative, policy, and public education initiatives on behalf of the K-12 educational publishing industry. Prior to that, he worked as a corporate attorney in publishing and other media industries. He is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and Northwestern University School of Law.
