The AccessText Network™ (ATN), a comprehensive, national online system is making it easier and faster for students with print-related disabilities to obtain the textbooks needed for their college courses initiated its Beta phase. The ATN was developed in conjunction with the Alternative Media Access Center (AMAC), an initiative of the Georgia Board of Regents and the University System of Georgia.
The AccessText Network improves the way electronic versions of print textbooks are delivered from publishers to campus-based disability services to students (DSS) offices and streamline the permissions process for scanning copies of print textbooks when publisher files are unavailable and for re-using alternate formats created by DSS offices.
