In 2009 AAP launched Cost Effective Solutions for Student Success, an initiative to expand publisher outreach to educators and policy makers, enabling them to provide information about new technologies and options that will improve student success, increasing retention and pass-rates while reducing students’ costs for course materials and reducing per-pupil instruction costs for colleges and universities. Since its inception, publishers have crisscrossed the nation, sharing information, exploring new business models and cost-saving options to offset funding cutbacks, and analyzing ways in which they can help meet the challenges facing states, university systems, and individual schools and faculty.
