As proactive outreach to libraries, AAP runs Get Caught Reading, a national campaign to provide free celebrity posters to hundreds of public and school librarians across the country each year in support of reading and literacy. In addition, AAP's Adult and Children’s Library Marketing Committees work year-round to create free and exciting author programming at all of the major librarian conferences (American Library Association Annual and Midwinter, BookExpo America, Public Library Association, Texas Library Association, and more), as well as hosting annual regional librarian book buzzes for major and independent publishers in New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, and other locations throughout the year.
Most recently, our committees hosted a full-day regional Book Buzz at the Chicago Public Library for 200 librarians on Thursday, January 29, followed by three events at the American Library Association Midwinter Conference (Chicago, IL; January 30-February 3, 2015), including an Author Booktalk and Breakfast for 180 librarians, a Library Family Feud event, and a Debut Authors Panel.
