The AAP PreK-12 Learning Group is pleased to announce our end of the year program. Anyone who creates or markets content – whole curriculum, supplemental materials or digital resources – should join us for this one-day event focused on content creation for today’s learners.

Program Sessions

  • Exploring the Future of Education – An Interactive Roundtable. Featuring prominent observers of the education marketplace from the financial sector, this session, hosted by Discovery Education Senior Vice President Education Partnerships Scott Kinney, will explore the many forces shaping the future of education and examine the challenges and opportunities facing education publishers now and in the future.  From a review of today’s digital students to a look at innovations that will drive tomorrow’s content-rich classrooms and the education marketplace, this panel will provide attendees a new perspective on the future of education.
  • Content Development in the Every Student Succeeds Era. Anyone developing with content should understand that the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) has sparked a new era of curriculum development based on evidence. Unlike the No Child Left Behind Act with its complex concept of “scientifically based” instructional strategies and products, however, ESSA sets forward a new dynamic concept of evidence for continuous school improvement. These requirements will not only affect states and local districts, they will also impact curriculum developers and publishers as evidence will be a key differentiator in the school market.
  • Marketing Great Content. Your relationship with your customers is your most important business asset, but are you really meeting their needs? In today’s climate, marketing, sales and customer service should be inseparable, but how often are you talking to educators outside of the next product promotion? It’s time to stop getting caught up in the sales cycle and start thinking how you are engaging educators on a daily basis. The goal is no longer just loyal customers but educators and administrators who are advocates for your company and your materials. In this session, we will talk about developing a company culture that begins and ends with the customer experience and how that culture affects every corner of your business.
