Event Overview

Whether states have formally adopted the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) or are updating their standards in general to reflect the needs of today’s science classrooms, publishers should be creating STEM resources that embrace the new paradigm. Educators are finding that many materials are relying on outdated methods of science instruction. This half-day Master Class workshop in New York will examine the critical components of a modern STEM curriculum and what the market needs from learning resource developers.

Topics include:

  • Key challenges in professional development, including the unique needs of elementary teachers
  • Upending student materials so that students are investigating phenomena rather than memorizing data
  • Strategies for marketing to school districts whether or not they are NGSS adoptees

Sounds Interesting?

This Master Class will be highly interactive – presenters will offer ample time for Q&A as well as a sample classroom lesson to help attendees understand the drastic changes happening in STEM. The class will be followed by a networking reception.

Anyone involved in the development and marketing of science and engineering materials for the PreK-12 market will benefit from this in-depth workshop.
