BookExpo and AAP Announce Leadership Lineup for Panels and Roundtables

CEOs of Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, Association of American Publishers, Authors Guild, and Copyright Alliance to share their insights
Norwalk, CT & Washington DC – April 19, 2018; Reed Exhibitions and the Association of American Publishers (AAP) are pleased to announce two blockbuster CEO panels during BookExpo 2018, highlighting some of the most influential voices in the industry on the subjects of publishing trends and policy issues. BookExpo 2018 takes place at the Javits Center in New York May 30 – June 1, 2018.
Leadership Roundtable: Publishers on Publishing
This roundtable will feature chief executive officers from top publishing houses, including Markus Dohle, CEO of Penguin Random House; Carolyn Reidy, President and CEO of Simon & Schuster; and John Sargent, CEO of Macmillan in a powerhouse presentation that will surely be a highlight of BookExpo. Together, these leaders will reflect on industry trends, market highlights, and the power and responsibilities of publishers as global, corporate citizens. Maria A. Pallante, President and CEO of Association of American Publishers, will moderate. This event is open to all BookExpo attendees and exhibitors, and will take place Thursday, May 31, 9:45 am – 10:45 am, Downtown Stage.
State of the Industry: Publishing and Copyright Policy
This panel will be moderated by Associated Press publishing reporter Hillel Italie, and will feature some of the most influential voices in copyright policy: Maria A. Pallante, President and CEO of the Association of American Publishers; Mary Rasenberger, Executive Director of the Authors Guild; and Keith Kupferschmid, CEO of the Copyright Alliance. This heavyweight team will explore the equities of copyright law as they relate to authors, publishers, and other aspects of the public interest, from the promise of global digital commerce to the evolving legal landscape in the courts and on Capitol Hill. This event will also be open to all BookExpo attendees and exhibitors, and will take place Wednesday, May 30, 10 am– 10:50 am, 1E12.
