Statement of AAP CEO Maria Pallante on the Life and Loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
The following is a comment from Association of American Publishers (AAP) President and CEO Maria A. Pallante on the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:
“We join the Nation in mourning the loss of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She was an inspiration to the legal community, women, minorities, and all who believe in the promise and authority of our Constitutional democracy. She spent her career smashing glass ceilings and encouraging others to do the same; as an icon who stood tall for justice and fairness; and most of all, as an American who chose to give all. Authors and publishers will forever remember her as a groundbreaking legal scholar, and as a champion of copyright and free speech. We bow our heads in gratitude to this American hero and will long hold her in our hearts.”
