The AAP PreK-12 Learning Group believes that all children deserve a world-class education and should have equal access to quality learning resources that help them reach their full potential. In pursuit of this goal we engage local, state, and federal policy leaders on such issues as funding, curriculum, testing, and literacy, and also organize events, awards, and programs to support professionals at all levels.

The PreK-12 Learning Group is governed by an Executive Council, which helps set the strategic goals for the division.

The PreK-12 Learning Group was born in 2013 when the School Division of the AAP merged with the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP). AEP, originally called the Educational Press Association of America, was founded in 1895 by a small group of editors to exchange information and to promote open expression of educational opinion.
